The emerging regions of Mount Benson, Robe, and Mount Gambier are evidently the ones to watch, as they begin to take top prize honours and promote contemporary new wine tastes.
Millions of years ago this land was covered by sea. As the sea resided, a bed of limestone was formed leaving in its place a landscape rich with shells, fish and even whale fossils. The nutrient rich, stony soils, layered over fossilised limestone, provides excellent drainage, balanced with perfect water retention. Influenced by our cool, coastal climate and artesian water supply, the grapes naturally ripen, slowly resulting in intense fruit flavours.
The vineyards have undoubtedly benefited from this fertile land. Ensuring the conservation of the wider area's natural beauty, wildlife, and heritage listed wetlands is our role as its inhabitants.
An exciting and relatively new cool climate region, perched on the cliffs facing the Great Southern Ocean. Its brilliant blue skies and cooling sea breezes allow the grapes to ripen more slowly.
Coonawarra is an Aboriginal word meaning "Honeysuckle". Famous for its rich red terra rossa soil that produces some of Australia’s finest Cabernet Sauvignon wines. The first vines were planted by John Riddoch in 1890 making the Coonawarra the grandfather of the region.
The Wrattonbully wine region lies over several ranges in the area surrounding Naracoorte, including the Naracoorte Range, a region of ancient World Heritage-listed geology. The first vines were planted in the 1960s and now the region draws the attention of wine connoisseurs from around the world. Its cool climate and rich soil suitable for a wide range of varieties.
Padthaway is renown for its nutrient rich sandy loam soils over a layer of clay on a fossilised limestone base. Through the limestone runs an Artesian water basin allowing the vignerons to accurately manage vineyard irrigation. With a cool Mediterranean climate the grapes ripen slowly resulting in intense fruit flavours.
South Australia’s second most populous city famous for its volcanic blue lake. A relatively young grape growing region of the Limestone Coast region is fast becoming known for the excellent quality of it's Pinot Noir and white varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
Robe is a new and exciting wine region on the Limestone Coast. Its vines started to flourish in the 1990s its cool climate is perfect for producing premium wines that are slightly different to those from regions further inland, like the Coonawarra. The unique soils and long, gentle growing seasons produce very distinctive wines.
The Potawuruti Aborigines names this place Padthaway meaning, ‘good water’. A reputation of consistently producing premium quality wines, particularly Chardonnay and Shiraz.

A signature of the region is its own style of delicate, cool-climate, maritime-influenced wines, particularly Shiraz, which have already begun to make waves within a very competitive Australian wine industry.
A unique coastal geographical indication sitting between inland lakes, and alongside the cold Southern Ocean - a maritime influence that imparts a higher level of acidity in its fruit than the rest of the Limestone Coast.
A new and emerging region with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir showing great promise as does Sauvignon Blanc.
